While formally announcing the third season of the Indian crime drama Mirzapur, details of the cast, directors and executive producer have been presented with a plot twist that leaves the audience surprised.

On March 19, at Prime Video’s event, the entire cast of Mirzapur 3 took to the stage to announce the post-production phase of the third season of the critically acclaimed web series, along with a post on Prime Video’s Instagram that shared key details.
ln the said post, the cast, directors and other information was revealed.
The web series Mirzapur‘s pilot episode was initially released in 2018 which was met with positive response who eagerly waited for the second episode.
Following the release of its second installment in 2020, fans are eagerly waiting for the third installment, which has reportedly completed shooting and is in the post-production stages.
The third installment will be executively produced by “Ritesh Sidhwani, Farhan Akhtar, Kassim Jagmagia, Gurmmeet Singh,†according to the post made by Prime Video India on Instagram.
Directions of Mirzapur 3 will be spearheaded by “Gurmmeet Singh†and “Anand Iyer†the post further suggests.
Writers of the series are “Apurva Dhar Badgaiyan, Avinash Singh Tomar, Avinash Singh, Vijay Narayan Verma.â€
Mirzapur 3 will boast an ensemble cast featuring “Pankaj Tripathi, Ali Fazal, Shweta Tripathi Sharma, Rasika Dugal, Vijay Varma, Harshita Gaur, Anjumm Sharma, Priyanshu Painyuli, Sheeba Chadha, Rajesh Tailang, Manurishi Chadha, Isha Talwar.â€
Speaking of the plot twist, the post read, “Guddu and Golu are pitted against a new contender as they stake their claim to the throne. Will they pass the baptism of fire or will external forces seek to destroy the seat of power forever.â€

The teaser clip featured Fazal ascending stairs with a rod on his shoulders, followed by Tripathi in a contemplative moment by a waterfall dressed in a traditional dhoti kurta.
“At the event, Ali said that Mirzapur 3 will have the same “flavour” as its maiden season. He said that while the audience will be introduced to new characters, they will also bid goodbye to some of the old ones. He said that the third season will have more “masala”, News18 reported.
