The former captain and all-rounder of the Afghanistan cricket team announced his retirement from ODI cricket. According to the media, Mohammad Nabi, the all-rounder official announced retirement from ODI cricket.
Afghanistan Cricket Board Chief Executive Naseeb Khan confirmed that Mohammad Nabi will retire from ODI cricket after playing in the Champions Trophy.
The cricketer informed the board about his retirement. The chief executive shared that Mohammad Nabi had informed the board several months ago about his plan to retire from ODI cricket following the Champions Trophy.
Afghanistan Cricket Board Chief Executive said that we respect Mohammad Nabi’s decision, I understand that he wants to continue his career in T20 cricket.
Notably, Mohammad Nabi made his debut for Afghanistan in 2009, the 39-year-old cricketer announced his retirement from Test cricket in 2019.
On the other hand, the ICC Champions Trophy event will kick off on February 19, 2025. Pakistan will face off against New Zealand in Karachi.
The 2025 Champions Trophy is scheduled from February 19 to March 9, with a reserve day set for March 10. The tournament will take place across three cities: Karachi, Lahore, and Rawalpindi.
