Bushra Bibi, wife of imprisoned ex-prime minister Imran Khan, faces mounting legal challenges as the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) dispatched a team from Rawalpindi to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) to apprehend her in connection with a £190 million corruption investigation.
Reports indicated that non-bailable arrest warrants have been issued against Bushra Bibi due to her repeated failure to attend court proceedings.
A prior attempt by NAB officials to detain the former First Lady was reportedly unsuccessful.
In response, a newly-formed team has been tasked with her arrest, with instructions for NAB KP to provide full support.
The team is also expected to collaborate with local law enforcement in KP to ensure the arrest is carried out effectively.
This move follows the Rawalpindi Accountability Court’s directive to bring Bushra Bibi before the bench by November 26.
The case involves allegations of embezzlement related to a £190 million settlement.
Bushra Bibi was recently released from Adiala Jail after receiving bail in the Toshakhana case, where she had been held for nine months since her arrest on January 31.
