On Friday, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and Acting US Ambassador to Pakistan Natalie Baker met to talk about issues of shared concern, such as counterterrorism, regional security, and improved bilateral collaboration. “Pakistan is a valued partner of the United States,” Ambassador Baker said, reinforcing the significance of US-Pakistan relations. We place a high value on our relationship and anticipate deepening our collaboration in a variety of fields.
The summit emphasized both nations’ shared commitment to promoting regional peace and stability via persistent communication and cooperative efforts.
Both parties discussed a number of issues of mutual interest during the conversation, such as counterterrorism, cooperation in the fight against drugs, and the region’s escalating security concerns.
The discussion emphasized the value of strategic collaboration in tackling changing international issues.
A key highlight of the meeting was the recent engagement between Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff, Field Marshal Asim Munir and US President Donald Trump. Both Naqvi and Baker viewed the meeting as a constructive step toward deepening strategic ties between Islamabad and Washington.
Naqvi lauded President Trump’s leadership in facilitating a ceasefire between Iran and Israel, describing his efforts as “extraordinary and sincere”.
“President Trump’s impressive role in brokering peace between Iran and Israel, following his earlier contributions to the Pakistan-India ceasefire, will always be remembered,” the interior minister remarked. “We hope President Trump will also succeed in bringing about a ceasefire in Gaza,” he added.
