Veteran actor Naseeruddin Shah has voiced strong support for Diljit Dosanjh, who faces backlash from extremist groups in India over his film Sardaar Ji 3 featuring Pakistani actress Hania Aamir.
Naseeruddin Shah stood up for Diljit Dosanjh in spite of criticism from a number of film organizations and public figures, some of whom even demanded that his future work be prohibited.
He emphasized that Diljit was not involved in the casting and condemned the backlash’s politically motivated attacks.
Shah responded to the mounting criticism on social media by stating: “I STAND FIRMLY WITH DILJIT.”
The Jumla Party’s dirty tricks department has been waiting for an opportunity to attack him. Finally, they believe they have it. The director was in charge of the movie’s casting, not him.
Shah emphasized that Diljit’s willingness to work on the movie was a result of his tolerance and determination to avoid becoming involved in hate speech.
He went on, “Diljit is well-known throughout the world, and because his mind isn’t poisoned, he accepted the cast. The goal of these thugs is to stop the Indian and Pakistani people from interacting personally. No one can stop me from seeing them or sending them love whenever I feel like it because I have some very close friends and family there.
By doing this, he underlined that political agendas shouldn’t govern or have an impact on interpersonal relationships and cultural exchange.
