Polio virus has been confirmed in environmental samples from 26 more districts across the country.
According to the National Institute of Health report, polio virus has been found in environmental samples from 26 districts and these samples were collected from January 6 to January 15.
The presence of polio virus has been confirmed in various districts of Karachi including Central, East, Korangi, Malir, South, West, and Keamari, while the virus has also been found in the sewage of other districts of Sindh including Badin, Ghotki, Hyderabad, Jacobabad, Qambar, Mirpurkhas, Sujawal, and Sukkur.
In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, polio has also been confirmed in environmental samples of Abbottabad, Bajaur, Dera Ismail Khan, Lakki Marwat, and Peshawar.
In Balochistan, districts of Chaman, Loralai, and Quetta, while in Punjab districts of Lahore, Multan, and Rawalpindi, polio tests have also come back positive.
