Security personnel killed nine terrorists during a series of operations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Sunday, the military’s media wing reported.
The ISPR statement said that security forces eliminated nine “Indian-sponsored Khawarij” in three different encounters.
The army’s media wing stated that security forces launched an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in Dera Ismail Khan district, after receiving reports of Indian-sponsored Khawarij presence, using the term to refer to terrorists belonging to the proscribed Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan.
Security forces effectively engaged the Khawarij location and, after a fierce exchange of fire, dispatched four Indian-sponsored Khawarij to hell.
According to the statement, security forces carried out another IBO in Tank District and sent two additional Indian-funded Khawarij to hell.
During the third operation in the Bagh area of Khyber district, “own troops successfully neutralised three more Indian-sponsored khawarij”, the ISPR stated.
The statement further informed that security forces recovered arms and ammunition from the dead terrorists, who had carried out several terrorist activities in these areas.
The statement added that security forces are conducting sanitisation operations to root out any other Khawarij in the area, as they remain determined to eradicate the scourge of Indian-sponsored terrorism from the nation.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and President Asif Ali Zardari both showed gratitude to the security forces after the operations, The Associated Press of Pakistan reported.
