Famous Indian actor and singer Diljit Dosanjh has broken his silence on the boycott campaign and fears of being blacklisted from Bollywood, taking a direct jab at the Indian film industry.

The internationally renowned Punjabi artist is currently facing severe criticism in India for starring alongside Pakistani actress Hania Aamir in his upcoming film Sardaar Ji 3. Following the recent Pahalgam incident and rising tensions between India and Pakistan, Diljit has been targeted with growing backlash.

He is reportedly facing concert bans, threats of being blacklisted from Bollywood, suspension of his social media accounts, and even accusations questioning his loyalty to the country.

This isn’t the first time Diljit has faced criticism over his connection with Hania Aamir. He was previously targeted for inviting her on stage during a concert in London, which sparked outrage in India.

In a recent interview with BBC Asian Network, Diljit clarified the casting of Hania Aamir in Sardaar Ji 3. However, the controversy continues to intensify, with demands for bans on his concerts and harsh allegations surfacing on various platforms.

Amid all this, a short video clip of Diljit is going viral on social media in which he delivers a bold response to the threats he’s been receiving.

The Punjabi singer states, “I have no desire to work in Bollywood. I don’t wish to become a big star there. I love music, and I can make music without anyone’s permission.”

He added, “I don’t need a superstar’s approval to work. No one can decide whose song will become popular or who should get work. In Punjab, artists create their own songs. We have the freedom to make music without restrictions. As long as I feel like it, and God wills it, I will keep making music.”

Diljit firmly concluded by saying, “Whether I get work in Bollywood or not—I couldn’t care less.”
