Putin says Russia has repeatedly assured Israel there’s no evidence Iran is seeking nuclear weapons, per Sky News Arabia.
He was quoted by Sky News Arabia as saying, “Russia and the IAEA (International Atomic Energy Agency) have never had any evidence that Iran is preparing to obtain nuclear weapons, as we have repeatedly put the Israeli leadership on notice.”
Putin was quoted as saying that Iran has the right to develop a peaceful nuclear program and that Russia is prepared to assist it in doing so.
Putin said Friday at an economic forum in St. Petersburg that Russia was discussing with both sides how to halt the violence in the Iran-Israel conflict.
He did not elaborate on those concepts.
