The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) on Monday hiked the price of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG). The LPG price was hiked by Rs7.31 per kilogram. The new price is Rs250.31 per kg.
As a result of this change, the cost of an 11.8 kg domestic cylinder will see an increase of Rs86.28, making the new price Rs2,965.38. These updated prices will be implemented from the beginning of October.
Previously, LPG prices had seen a reduction of Rs7 per kg, with the price of an 11.8 kg domestic cylinder set at Rs2,879.
In a related development, it is anticipated that the prices of petroleum products in Pakistan may decrease starting October 1, following a notable decline in the international market. Reports suggest that the federal government will likely announce a reduction in petrol prices by Rs1 to Rs3 per litre on September 30. Additionally, diesel prices may also drop by Rs3 per litre.
This expected price adjustment comes in light of a decrease in global oil prices, with Brent crude trading down by US$0.50 to $72.27 per barrel. The Prime Minister’s approval will be required before the new rates are officially announced.
