A storm of criticism has engulfed Indian singer-turned-actor Diljit Dosanjh amid circulating rumors that Pakistani actress Hania Aamir might be part of his upcoming movie, Sardaar Ji 3.
The situation has sparked serious concerns within Bollywood’s workers’ unions, particularly the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE).
Tensions flared after a tragic assault in the Pahalgam region of India-administered Kashmir earlier this year, which left 26 civilians dead.
The incident reignited strong opposition to cross-border collaborations in the entertainment industry, prompting renewed scrutiny of any involvement by Pakistani performers in Indian productions.
Industry insiders report that FWICE has voiced sharp disapproval over the alleged casting of several Pakistani figures, including comedians Nasir Chinyoti, Saleem Albela, and Danial Khawar, in addition to Aamir.
FWICE President BN Tiwari declared that any Indian performer or technician associating with Pakistani talent may face professional isolation or even be labelled disloyal to the country.
Further intensifying the matter, the federation has formally petitioned the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) to withhold approval for Sardaar Ji 3, citing heightened public sensitivity and national interest as grounds for rejection.
Speculation intensified after Dosanjh shared behind-the-scenes glimpses from the shoot, which some online observers claimed included blurry visuals of Aamir and other Pakistani actors.
Despite the absence of direct confirmation, these posts have fueled assumptions and led to widespread online debates.
Dosanjh has since tried to defuse the tension by sharing related updates, but reactions remain polarized.
