Pakistan Railways will launch five special trains during the Eid-ul-Adha period, from June 2 to June 4, according to the official spokesperson.
On June 2, at 1 p.m., the first special train would leave Karachi Cantt for Lahore. On June 3, the second train is scheduled to depart Quetta for Peshawar Cantt at 10 a.m.
On June 3, at 5 p.m., the third special train would leave Lahore for Karachi Cantt. On June 3, around 8 p.m., the fourth train will depart Karachi City for Rawalpindi.
On June 4, at 8 p.m., the fifth and last special train would leave Karachi Cantt for Lahore.
While the third and fifth trains will make use of the current Eid special train rakes, the first, second, and fourth trains will be equipped with coaches from workshops.
The program’s objectives are to make travel safer, easier for the general population, and less congested during the holidays.
The final decision on the date of Eid-ul-Adha will be announced on May 27, following the meeting of the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee scheduled for that day.
The Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee meeting in Islamabad has been called by the Ministry of Religious Affairs. The committee will be chaired by Abdul Khabeer Azad, Chairman of the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee.
Meanwhile, zonal Ruet-e-Hilal committees will hold meetings at their respective provincial headquarters, according to the Ministry of Religious Affairs.
