The Government of Pakistan has decided to officially nominate US President Donald J. Trump for the 2026 Nobel Peace Prize for his firm diplomatic intervention and leadership role in recent India-Pakistan crisis, according to the reports.
The government release made on Saturday declared that the international community witnessed unprovoked and illegal Indian aggression that was a serious breach of Pakistan’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, which led to the sad loss of innocent lives, women, children, and the elderly.
In pursuing its inherent right of self-defense, Pakistan initiated Operation Bunyanum Marsoos—a cautious, firm, and accurate military action undertaken with utmost care to reassert deterrence and protect its territorial integrity while taking great care not to cause harm to civilians,” it explained.
It said that at a time of increased regional turbulence, President Trump showed utmost strategic vision and exemplary statesmanship by strong diplomatic intervention with Islamabad and New Delhi which defused an increasingly catastrophic situation and finally brokered a ceasefire.
This initiative is testament to his position as a true peacemaker and his dedication to conflict resolution through discussion,” it added.
The Government of Pakistan also recognizes and highly appreciates President Trump’s genuine gestures to assist in resolving the long-standing Jammu and Kashmir dispute between India and Pakistan—a subject at the root of regional instability, it stated.
The government added President Trump’s leadership during the 2025 Pakistan India crisis clearly demonstrates the extension of his legacy of practical diplomacy and successful peacebuilding.
Pakistan hopes that his sincere efforts will continue to bear fruit in the pursuit of regional and international stability, especially in the context of current crises in the Middle East, including the humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza and the worsening escalation against Iran,” it said.
