Pakistan has denied Daily Mail’s false report claiming nuclear strike threat against Israel in Iran’s defense.
Indian media outlets have extensively disseminated the story, which has been branded as “fake news” and an effort to damage Pakistan’s reputation internationally.
Pakistan allegedly promised Iran that it would use its own nuclear arsenal to retaliate against Israel in the event of a nuclear attack, according to the Daily Mail report.
Authorities in Pakistan, however, have flatly denied this story, calling it a careless and unfounded fabrication.
Pakistan has made it clear that it will not directly participate in the conflict between Israel and Iran.
Khawaja Asif, the defense minister, refuted the allegations on social media, restating Pakistan’s long-standing position on nuclear policy.
He wrote, “Pakistan is totally committed to all international nuclear regulations.” “We only have nuclear weapons for the protection of our country and the welfare of our citizens.”
The minister also called on the international community to take Israel’s uncontrolled nuclear capabilities more seriously.
There are no international nuclear treaties that Israel has ratified. The nuclear arsenal of an unchecked rogue state should worry the entire world, he continued. “Supporting such a state could have disastrous results.”
Amid escalating regional tensions, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Ishaq Dar reaffirmed Pakistan’s nuclear and defense capabilities on Monday, stating that any hostile action against Pakistan would be met with a swift and forceful response.
