Pakistan has officially welcomed the ceasefire understanding between Iran and Israel, calling on all parties to uphold the agreement and avoid actions that could escalate tensions in the volatile Middle East.
Pakistan “welcomes the announcement of the ceasefire understanding between Iran and Israel,” the Foreign Office said in a statement released on Tuesday and urged the pertinent parties to respect it.
The Foreign Office also underlined Pakistan‘s support for fresh initiatives to advance regional dialogue and diplomacy, stating that these initiatives were necessary for enduring peace.
The spokesperson added, “We also welcome and support the efforts aimed at reviving dialogue and diplomacy in the region.”
Pakistan emphasized that using force to settle regional disputes is not a sustainable solution, reinforcing its longstanding commitment to peace.
“Only by rigorously adhering to the goals and tenets of the U.N. Charter and by abstaining from the use of force can peace and stability be achieved in the region,” the statement continued.
Pakistan promised to keep up its positive influence and back any efforts to advance regional peace and stability. The Foreign Office came to the conclusion that “Pakistan will continue to support all efforts in this regard.”
