Foreign Ministry officials on Tuesday have confirmed Pakistan’s decision to recall diplomatic staff and families from Iran.
The decision was made in light of the ongoing conflict between Israel and Iran, which has raised questions about the security of diplomatic missions in the area.
The return of non-essential employees and family members of some diplomats currently stationed in Iran is part of a precautionary measure, according to ministry sources.
Officials have affirmed that Pakistan will maintain its diplomatic presence in Iran despite the partial withdrawal. A senior official declared, “Our embassy in Tehran and consulates in other cities will remain operational.”
“Only those whose presence is not urgently needed have been asked to come back.”
