Pakistan’s star all-rounder Shadab Khan is set to undergo right shoulder surgery in the UK, ruling him out of action for nearly three months.
According to reports, the 26-year-old has been dealing with ongoing shoulder pain. Surgery was suggested as a solution after medical consultations.
To carry out the procedure, he is probably going to visit the UK shortly.
This injury setback occurs a few weeks prior to the start of Pakistan’s planned three-match T20 international series against Bangladesh later in July. Shadab will now miss the forthcoming tour after last appearing in the opening Twenty20 International match against Bangladesh in Lahore on May 28.
Later this week, Pakistan’s team for the Bangladesh series is anticipated to be revealed. Reports have suggested that left-arm spinner Sufiyan Muqeem may make his debut, but no significant surprises are expected.
On July 7, the National Bank Stadium in Karachi will host the start of the national training camp.
Some of Pakistan’s biggest names, including Babar Azam, Mohammad Rizwan, and Shaheen Shah Afridi, will not be involved in the selection process at this time, and there is no set date for when they will return.
The team from Pakistan is scheduled to land in Dhaka on July 16. The series will begin on July 20 and continue with matches on July 22 and 24.
