As a result of a decrease in unemployment from the previous year, Pakistan’s economic status has improved drastically in 2024.
Ipsos-Pakistan’s consumer confidence survey 2024, which drew participation from over a thousand respondents nationwide, disclosed this in its second quarter report.
Pakistanis who reported being jobless in the previous year decreased by 7%, according to the 2024 poll.
At the same time, the percentage of respondents who claimed they had not lost their work increased by 5% to 50% from 57% in the previous survey and 50% in the current one who stated they or someone they knew was jobless.
While 63% of Pakistanis reported being jobless in September 2023, the percentage of those who lost their jobs in the last year has dropped by 13% since then.
According to the report, Pakistanis’ fear of losing their jobs has decreased by 10%. 95% in September 2023, compared to 85% in the present study, who said they were afraid of losing their jobs. Pakistanis’ confidence in finding work rose from 5% to 15% throughout the same time period.
