NEW DELHI: The US-based prominent leader of Khalistan Movement, Gurpatwant Singh Pannun, has called upon the Sikh community in the Indian Punjab to unite and stop Chief Minister, Bhagwant Mann, from hoisting the Indian flag in Ludhiana on India’s Republic Day, the 26th January.

Gurpatwant Singh Pannun in a video said that the Punjab government was falsely branding Sikh youngsters as gangsters and then killing them in fake encounters. He also asked the youth to get in touch with him and register themselves as voters for a referendum on Khalistan on January 26.

Pannun also dared the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to attend the Republic Day function on January 26 without security. “I dare Modi…. If you are a popular leader, come to Delhi on R-Day without security and the SFJ (Sikhs for Justice) is going to avenge the assassination of (Hardeep Singh) Nijjar by raising Khalistan flag,” he said in the video.

Pannun is a prominent leader of Sikhs’ representative organization, Sikhs for Justice, which is spearheading the Khalistan Movement, the creation of an independent homeland for Sikhs by separating Punjab from India.
