Pakistan has officially launched its post-Hajj repatriation effort today (June 10), as Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) begins transporting pilgrims back home after completing the annual religious journey.
According to Dr. Syed Ata Ur Rehman, Secretary of the Ministry of Religious Affairs, the first return flight—PIA flight PK-732—will depart from Jeddah’s King Abdulaziz International Airport at 8:50 PM local time and is expected to land in Islamabad at 3:50 AM on Wednesday morning.
The repatriation of pilgrims from Madinah will commence on June 12, with flight PK-7030 scheduled to leave for Lahore at 3:30 PM local time, arriving in Pakistan later that evening at 10:30 PM. Each flight is expected to carry around 307 passengers.
The entire post-Hajj flight operation will span one month, concluding on July 10. The final scheduled flight, PK-7094, will depart from Madinah at 12:30 PM, bringing approximately 437 pilgrims back to Islamabad.
In total, over 88,000 individuals who participated in the government-sponsored Hajj program will be flown back through a series of 362 flights. Including private arrangements, more than 115,000 Pakistanis performed Hajj this year.
To ensure a seamless return for pilgrims, the Pakistan Hajj Mission has implemented comprehensive logistical and support plans in Saudi Arabia.
