Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has terminated the employment of its Deputy Station Manager in Birmingham Iqbal Javed Bajwa, after it was revealed that his intermediate  certificate from the Lahore Board was fake.
Bajwa, the brother of former Army Chief General (Retired) Qamar Javed Bajwa, had been with PIA since 1977.
A spokesperson for PIA confirmed that Bajwa was asked to resign after his educational credentials were found to be forged.
“Iqbal Javed Bajwa was issued a show-cause notice on July 30 through PIA’s Finance Manager in Birmingham,†the spokesperson said.
The sources said that Bajwa started his career with PIA at the Rawalpindi office in 1977.
He later acquired British citizenship in the late 1980s and subsequently had his employment status with PIA changed to reflect his new citizenship.
Bajwa has now officially resigned from his position following the controversy surrounding his educational background.
