The Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has ordered the relevant authorities to take effective, on-ground measures to enhance tourism within Pakistan.
The Prime Minister stressed that Pakistan is a highly blessed country in terms of natural resources and unrivaled beauty, and, as such, a leading competitor in the world tourism market.
He said the northern regions of Pakistan as well as others include snow-capped mountains and deep forests, but they also include rivers, plains, and deserts, and make it a natural landscape that is comparable to any place in the rest of the world.
Furthermore, the government of Pakistan under PM Shehbaz again committed to realizing this potential by enhancing infrastructure, providing security, and creating tourist facilities that will prove attractive to national and international tourists.
He instructed the Pakistan Tourism Development Corporation (PTDC) to initiate practical action to achieve tourism in the country.
The prime minister directed the public and private to collaborate to ease movement of international tourists to tourist attraction sites of Pakistan.
Special efforts to improve domestic tourism and providing incentives to local tourists to visit recreational areas and making long-term plans to invest the tourism industry should be made the prime minister said.
Furthermore, he noted that there was tremendous opportunity to generate foreign exchange earnings through tourism in the country.
The prime minister additionally ordered that Pakistan must be presented as a tourism brand in the international market.
In cooperation with the provinces, he said efforts should be made nationally to promote tourism and added under the vision of national development we will make Pakistan the tourist destination in the world.
In the meeting, the prime minister was briefed about the suggestions on how the Pakistan tourism sector can be utilized fully.
