DAVOS: Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaarul Haq Kakar and Foreign Minister of Saudi Arabia Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah on Thursday discussed regional developments and mutual relations, noting that close brotherly relations between the two countries were a factor of regional stability.
Foreign Minister of Saudi Arabia Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah called on Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaarul Haq Kakar on the sidelines of 54th annual meeting of the World Economic Forum (WEF).
On the occasion, the prime minister underlined the strategic importance of close brotherly relations between Pakistan and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, rooted in common cultural heritage and shared interests. The two sides also reviewed regional developments and expressed satisfaction over measures taken to further close brotherly relations between the two countries, which they termed a “factor of regional stability.”

He said Pakistan desires to deepen bilateral engagement including through trade, investment and people-to-people exchanges. The prime minister appreciated the leadership of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and underlined the highest esteem the people of Pakistan held for the leadership and the people of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Earlier, Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaarul Haq Kakar on Thursday witnessed the signing of Inter-Governmental Framework Agreements between the Ministries of Communications, Railways and Maritime Affairs of Pakistan and the Government of Dubai, represented by DP World.
The signing ceremony was held after a meeting between Prime Minister Kakar and Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem, Group Chairman and CEO of UAE-based DP World, a multinational logistics company on the sidelines of the 54th annual meeting of the World Economic Forum (WEF).
The agreements cover potential opportunities in Pakistan for the development of a dedicated freight corridor, multi-modal logistics park and rail freight terminals on Pakistan’s railway network, as well as, inter alia, the development of coastal economic zone and dredging works of navigation channels at Port Qasim. The prime minister expressed satisfaction at the growth of exchanges, interaction and cooperation between businesses in Pakistan and UAE and highlighted their transformative potential.
