Prime Minister (PM) Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif offered warm congratulations, on behalf of the people, Government of Pakistan and himself, to President Ilham Aliyev and the people of the brotherly country Azerbaijan on the happy occasion of their Independence Day.
“Pakistan greatly cherishes its strong fraternal relationships with Azerbaijan based on common history, trust, and unflinching support for one another.”
“Today, it is my pleasure to be able to mark this historic day in Azerbaijan, alongside President Aliyev and our Azerbaijani brothers and sisters,” the prime minister tweeted on X handle.
The prime minister also stated that he had every hope that under the wise and sagacious leadership of President Aliyev, their multi-faceted partnership would grow stronger from strength to strength.
Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif earlier participated in the country’s celebrations of Youm-e-Takbeer by paying homage to the former prime ministers, scientists, engineers and brave armed forces that made the defence of the country invincible.
On X handle, the prime minister stated “As the country celebrates Youm-e-Takbeer, we thank Allah Almighty for His infinite blessings and for bestowing upon us yet another resounding victory despite the recent Indian aggression.
Earlier, President Ilham Aliyev revealed plans for potential ventures amounting to $2 billion during talks with Turkish and Pakistani leadership. The summit, aimed at reinforcing regional alliances, focused on shared development priorities and regional security.
Highlighting a deep-rooted cultural camaraderie, President Aliyev described the countries as aligned by heritage and shared geopolitical goals. “The trilateral collaboration is built on a foundation of trust, mutual respect, and a collective vision for progress,” he said.
