Prime Minister (PM) Shehbaz Sharif on Tuesday arrived in Lachin, Azerbaijan to participate in Pakistan-Türkiye-Azerbaijan Trilateral Summit.
Foreign Minister of Azerbaijan Jeyhun Bayramov received the Prime Minister upon his arrival. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will be participating in the Trilateral Summit, which will also include Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev.
The Prime Minister also plans to hold a bilateral meeting with the President of Azerbaijan.
Earlier, Mehrabad Airport in Tehran witnessed Iranian Interior Minister Eskandar Momeni, Iran’s Pakistan Ambassador Dr. Reza Amiri-Moghaddam, Pakistan’s Iran Ambassador Muhammad Mudassar Tipu, and senior diplomatic officials welcoming Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and the Pakistani delegation back.
The Prime Minister has arrived in Azerbaijan on the third leg of his four-country tour from where he will head to Tajikistan.
As part of his visit to Iran, Prime Minister (PM) Shehbaz Sharif made a courtesy call on Sayyed Ali Khamenei, the Supreme Leader of Iran on Monday and exchanged views on issues of bilateral and regional interest.
Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar, Federal Minister for Interior Syed Mohsin Raza Naqvi and Federal Minister for Information Attaullah Tarar also attended the occasion.
Throughout the call, the Prime Minister expressed his utmost respect to the Supreme Leader highlighting that His Eminence was a legend in the Muslim World and the Muslim Ummah looked up to him for patronage and guidance.
