Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan reasserted their commitment to enhance the deep-rooted, historical and brotherly ties between Pakistan and Turkiye on Sunday.
Details of PM Shehbaz’s two-day official visit to Turkey include an important meeting with the Turkish president in Istanbul’s historic Dolmabahce Palace.
The Pakistani team included Special Assistant Tariq Fatemi, Federal Minister for Information Atta Tarar, Field Marshal Gen Syed Asim Munir, and Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar.
The visiting delegation was honored at a special dinner hosted by President Erdogan.
Both leaders examined every facet of bilateral relations and reaffirmed their commitment to taking the strategic alliance to new heights, according to the official statement.
In light of recent regional and international events, PM Shehbaz expressed gratitude to the Turkish people and leadership for their steadfast support.
He claimed that Pakistan finds solace and strength in Turkey’s moral position and the kindness of the Turkish people.
The prime minister highlighted the importance of Pakistan’s armed forces in defending the country and commended the nation’s patriotism as well as their dedication and sacrifices.
Additionally, he emphasized the necessity of pursuing joint ventures, boosting bilateral investment, and broadening economic cooperation. Information technology, agriculture, infrastructure development, defense manufacturing, and renewable energy were among the key industries that were highlighted for reciprocal cooperation.
Both presidents urged a rapid ceasefire, emphasized the significance of continuing humanitarian aid for the Palestinian people, and voiced their profound concern about the humanitarian situation in Gaza.
