During a bilateral visit to Tajikistan, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and President Emomali Rahmon emphasized their commitment to enhancing cooperation across various sectors. They discussed bolstering trade, investment, and connectivity between Pakistan and Tajikistan, highlighting agriculture, education, health, and trade as key areas for mutual growth.

The leaders signed several Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) aimed at solidifying bilateral relations and fostering strategic partnerships. They underscored the significance of initiatives like the CASA-1000 project, set to enhance regional prosperity upon completion next year.

In talks addressing regional security, PM Sharif and President Rahmon reaffirmed their nations’ collective resolve against terrorism. PM Sharif also condemned human rights violations in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) and expressed solidarity with Gaza, stressing the need for international efforts to achieve peace.

President Rahmon reciprocated PM Sharif’s sentiments, acknowledging Pakistan’s role in regional stability and accepting an invitation to visit Pakistan. The visit concluded with both leaders expressing optimism about the future of Pak-Tajik relations and their mutual commitment to peace and development in the region.
