Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is scheduled to embark on a visit to Saudi Arabia from April 6 to 8, as announced by the Foreign Office.
This trip marks his first overseas visit since assuming office. Accompanying him will be ministers from various key departments, including foreign affairs, defense, finance, information, and economic affairs.
During his visit, the Prime Minister plans to perform Umrah and offer prayers at Masjid-e-Nabawi. Additionally, there are expectations of a meeting with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman to discuss matters of mutual interest, as well as regional and global developments.
The long-standing friendly ties between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia will be emphasized, with a commitment to fostering beneficial economic and investment relations.
Focus will also be placed on exploring potential collaborations and projects across multiple sectors, including agriculture. Investment projects, particularly in Reko Diq, are expected to be finalized during the visit, with Saudi Arabia likely to make significant investments in the project.
The Special Investment Facilitation Committee (SIFC) platform will play a crucial role in facilitating these investments.
The finance minister is prepared to provide a detailed briefing on investment incentives and opportunities in Saudi Arabia, with special emphasis on the Reko Diq project. The visit will also involve members of the special investment committee, who will engage in discussions and further cooperation with Saudi authorities.
