According to White House spokesperson Caroline Levitt, President Donald Trump has been keeping a close eye on the continuing tensions between India and Pakistan and has urged both countries to prevent further escalation.
“President Trump, who maintains positive relations with the leaders of both countries, has expressed a desire for the conflict to be resolved swiftly and peacefully,” the statement read.
“Secretary of State Marco Rubio has also been actively engaged in the matter, holding comprehensive discussions with leaders from both nations aimed at de-escalating the situation,” the spokeswoman for the White House stated.
“To encourage a peaceful resolution, the Secretary of State has had direct conversations with officials from both nations,” the White House spokeswoman stated.
The White House spokeswoman also stated, “The current administration is keen to prevent further instability in the region, as the conflict between Pakistan and India has persisted for decades.”
