President Asif Ali Zardari engaged in discussions with an IMF delegation, headed by Jihad Azour, regarding Pakistan’s economic situation and the IMF programme’s current status on Thursday.
The meeting was also attended by Senator Saleem Mandviwalla, Federal Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb, and other high-ranking officials.
President Zardari recognized the IMF’s contribution to Pakistan’s economic stability during the conversation.
He pointed out that the country’s financial recovery has been greatly aided by the current IMF program, which will continue to spur economic expansion.
Members of the visiting team stated that “the IMF program has played a helpful role in stabilizing inflation, foreign exchange reserves, and the fiscal deficit.”
They acknowledged that the IMF program is headed in the correct path and expressed satisfaction with the advancement of Pakistan’s economic reforms.
President Zardari commended the international financial organization for its collaboration with Pakistan and expressed gratitude for the IMF’s ongoing support.
Additionally, he commended the Ministry of Finance and its staff for their efforts to boost the economy.
Mutual commitment to ongoing cooperation in bolstering Pakistan’s economy and maintaining the momentum of change was underlined during the meeting.
