Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif scheduled to embark on an important three-nation brotherly Islamic countries diplomatic tour to the Islamic Republic of Iran, the Republic of Turkey and Azerbaijan from May 25 to 29.
He will be accompanied by a top-level delegation that comprises Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Muhammad Ishaq Dar, Federal Minister for Defence Khawaja Muhammad Asif, Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar.
Additionally, Federal Minister for Planning, Development and Special Initiatives Ahsan Iqbal, and senior officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will also be a part of foreign delegation.
According to sources from the three countries’ embassies, PM Shehbaz Sharif will kick-start the tour of the two countries in Tehran on May 25 and will have a meeting with top Iranian leadership until May 26.
In these meetings, the PM is likely to apprise the Iranian leadership of Pakistan’s military reaction to the recent unprovoked attacks on various cities and major facilities.
After his activities in Iran, PM Shehbaz will proceed to Turkey on May 26. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif plans to meet President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on May 27.
The last phase of the tour will see the prime minister proceed to Baku on May 28, where he will have talks with the President of Azerbaijan and senior cabinet officials.
The agenda would include the latest tensions between Pakistan and India, with stress on regional peace and cooperation. PM Shehbaz Sharif would return to Islamabad on May 29, as per the planned schedule.
