A tragic incident occurred at a university in Iraq, where a teacher shot his colleague following a heated discussion.
As per media reports, the victim named, Dr. Sara Al-Abadi, and her colleague Zargham Al-Tamimi were indulged in a verbal altercation. The altercation occurred at the university, where a heated argument between Dr. Al-Abadi and Professor Zargham escalated.
This scene was captured through CCTV footage, showing Professor Zargham exchanging heated words with Dr. Al-Abadi before he suddenly opened fire, striking her fatally.
The CCTV footage of this incident went viral on social media sparking an online discussion. Internet users are condemning the incident and are demanding for a harshest punishment for the professor.
The revelation that has increased the complexity in the case is that Professor Zargham is a close relative of Asad Al-Aidani, the Governor of Basra.
After this incident the governor appeared in a press conference. He stated that regardless of family ties, Professor Zargham will be held accountable in front of law. “No one is above the law, and justice will be served,” he stressed.
