Protest against privatization of public hospitals and rural health centers are ongoing, especially at Canal Road, Lahore.

The Grand Health Alliance has said the OPDs at Jinnah and General Hospitals will shut down tomorrow.

The sitin at Charing Cross, Mall Road, Lahore by the Grand Health Alliance has reached its third day as talks between the Health Department and protesting workers has remained stalled.

Although discussions could not take place according to data, the sitin at Charing Cross opposing the privatization of hospitals in Punjab went on for the third straight day.

The striking workers have appealed among the negotiating impasse, arguing that the Chief Minister of Punjab is not being appraised of the actual circumstances.

While medical personnel still sit in the burning sun outside the Punjab Assembly, Doctor Salman of the Grand Health Alliance noted no health authorities have stepped up for discussions.

He slammed the ruling class as lacking even sensitivity for the women in the marches.

PPP leader Chaudhry Manzoor spoke about the sitin and said that their governments has always offered help to the poor meanwhile showing support for the workers.

He said that the Grand Health Alliance is also planning a demonstration on Canal Road and that the OPD at Jinnah Hospital will be closed effective today.
