ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) on Wednesday strongly condemned the state coercive actions and use of violence against the peaceful participants of the long march of Baloch citizens, saying that the country was under a constant chaos due to unnecessary use of extra-constitutional and legal tactics.
A PTI spokesperson, in a statement, made it clear that all attempts to subdue the citizens through use of unconstitutional and unlawful means would serve no purpose; rather would further complicate the already aggravated situation.
He said that the constitution gave every citizen the basic rights of peaceful protest, freedom of expression and fair trial with guarantee of life, property and dignity. Therefore, PTI spokesperson pointed out that the disrespect of the justice system at the hands of the powerful state forces would further increase anarchy and lawlessness in the country, besides augmenting the sufferings of the citizens by making them more vulnerable.
PTI spokesperson alarmed that the nuclear country of 240 million was pushing into the mire of internal turmoil due to the existence of two type of system, wherein the powerful enjoyed complete impunity, while the poor were always in the strict grip of the law.
He stated that the state must put the constitution first while dealing with citizens and should always try to find an amicable solution to their problems without any discrimination and use of coercion and blind force.
