As party chairman, Barrister Gohar Ali Khan, the chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, has stated that he has welcomed the government’s offer of political conversation but has clearly ruled out any potential agreement.

Barrister Gohar told reporters outside Parliament House that PTI has always maintained the possibility of talks. He mentioned that as the chairman of the PTI, he welcomed Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s invitation to engage in discourse on the house floor.

“I assured the government that I would convey the message to the PTI founder and party leadership,” Gohar stated.

He called it an internal party affair, though, and would to provide any specifics of his discussion with PTI founder Imran Khan about the offer.

Imran Khan would not be involved in any agreement with the government, he emphasized. In response to a query regarding Imran Khan’s children’s recent, infrequent media appearance, Gohar expressed his satisfaction with their interview, pointing out that they had respectfully communicated their father’s refusal to make concessions.

The PTI founder, he continued, never gave his kids or party leaders instructions to look for a deal to get him out of jail. He claimed that he keeps information on the PTI founder private.

Meanwhile, Imran Khan’s sister, Aleema Khanum, categorically denied reports suggesting PTI’s willingness to hold talks with the government. She said she had no idea where the news came from.

“When we asked the PTI founder about it, he dismissed the claim,” Aleema said, asserting that the PML-N had stolen the public mandate and formed the government. “What is there to discuss with those who stole the mandate?” she questioned.

Aleema also pointed out that Imran is imprisoned in Punjab’s Adiala jail and that all cases against him are being pursued in the same province. She said the 26th Amendment was introduced specifically to deny him justice.

“In Peshawar, I was informed that Shehbaz Sharif had discussed matters with Imran Khan. To my amazement, I found out. Aleema said, “It later came to light that Shehbaz had spoken with Barrister Gohar.”

According to her, the PTI has only one chairman, Imran Khan, who issues all party directions. Barrister Gohar was appointed chairman solely to deliver messages.

PTI leader Naeem Haider Panjutha also denied rumors that the party had a pact with the government, claiming that the purpose of the claims was to boost the party’s popularity. According to Panjutha, the founder of the PTI consults with people before acting and never conducts business behind closed doors.
