Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has granted preliminary approval for the establishment of thalassemia centers in all divisions across the province, according to national media reports.
Chairing a meeting of the Department of Health and Population Welfare, Maryam Nawaz announced to launch thalassemia centers facility in all divisions of Punjab.
CM began the meeting by congratulating the participants on the successful execution of Operation Bunyan-al-Marsoos. Maryam Nawaz stated that the operation’s success has uplifted national morale and reignited a spirit of unity and patriotism across the country.
She emphasized that former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif had made Pakistan a nuclear power, and she called for a comprehensive strategy to ensure a steady supply of high-quality blood for patients throughout Punjab. The meeting also approved, in principle, the establishment of specialized thalassemia centers in each division.
Additionally, the meeting resolved to implement an effective Central Monitoring System for the healthcare sector. Maryam Nawaz directed that the ongoing revamping of hospitals be expedited.
Earlier, Maryam Nawaz expressed her support for Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s call to observe a Day of Gratitude. She said their goal is to build a Pakistan so strong that no adversary would dare to challenge it.
In her message on the Day of Gratitude, following Pakistan’s firm response to Indian hostilities, she expressed thankfulness to Allah Almighty for defeating the enemy’s harmful ambitions. She added that the day symbolizes not just gratitude, but also triumph, resilience, and national solidarity.
