Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has ordered a state of emergency in all of Punjab province. The Punjab police and other law enforcement have heightened alert level and deployed robust security cover operational across all district divisions.
Terming the unfolding crisis, Chief Minister Maryam firmly condemned India’s cowardly act of terrorism, saying the whole nation united stands ready to meet the foe with courage and tenacity.
Defense of every inch of Pakistan is our faith and my pledge,” she declared. “The aggressor attacked us in May; we will give a befitting response as we did on May 28, 1998. Each child of Pakistan will prove herself/himself in this trial and will be victorious by the grace and mercy of Allah Almighty.”
Punjab Closes Schools and Reschedules Exams Amid Security Concerns
To ensure public safety, the Punjab government closed all schools for the day and rescheduled all the examinations.
Health sector put on high alert
The provincial government has also suspended the leaves of all medical personnel and doctors in the entire province of Punjab. Doctors and medical staff have been directed to report for duty immediately at their respective hospitals and healthcare units in preparation for any eventuality.
Civil and district administration on stand by
District governments in all 36 Punjab districts are in high alert now. Additionally, officials and employees from other important departments, such as Civil Defense called to duty.
CM Maryam Nawaz underlined that Pakistan’s unity and determination will be the nation’s largest asset at this test time. “This is not a confrontation by the military; this is a test of national unity, strength, and courage,” she reiterated.
