Punjab police in Lahore detained three men accused of gang rape. According to a Punjab police statement, three were caught two hours after the event was reported, and efforts to apprehend the fourth are underway.

The accused were charged with gang rape under section 375A of the Pakistan Penal Code at the Chung police station, according to the statement. According to the statement, one of the suspects brought the victim to Lahore from Sahiwal and forced her to stay at his relatives’ residence. “According to the initial investigation, the suspects assaulted the victim for two consecutive days,” Kamran, the district attorney, stated.
According to the DIG, the victim is receiving full legal and medical help. “The suspects involved in the heinous crime will be brought to justice.”
Despite the existence of anti-rape laws, rape is punishable by the death penalty or imprisonment for 10 to 25 years, incidents continue to occur in the country.
In January, a female student at a top private university in Lahore was allegedly gang-raped by three men in a flat in a posh housing community on Raiwind Road.
The Racecourse Women’s Police Station filed a case and named three suspects.
