The Punjab Home Department has officially written to the School Education Department, to add up ‘Good Touch, Bad Touch’ awareness in the school curriculum.
The letter read that it is crucial to teach kids about personal safety, as it is urgently needed to be in effect by this year.
The guideline states that early-grade school curricula should include instruction on “Good Touch, Bad Touch.” Children who receive adequate instruction on this topic will be able to identify and report unacceptable behavior.
As per the direction, children should also be taught how to report inappropriate behavior both within and outside the home by their parents and instructors.
The letter also emphasizes how children who are sexually abused suffer from long-lasting trauma. It emphasizes that the state is in charge of protecting children and prosecuting offenders.
The letter also suggests that school going children should taught that how to expose with people who try to take advantage of them rather than to be afraid of them.
Latter also read that Education department should engage with the experts to create a thorough module about “Good Touch, Bad Touch”.
The letter urges an urgent action plan to safeguard the safety of future generations, given the delicate nature of the matter.
