Punjab University announced an updated examination timetable for all exams that were delayed due to the recent escalation in tensions between Pakistan and India.
According to an official notice, Associate Degree exams in Arts, Science, and Commerce, along with Special Category papers that were initially set for May 9 and 10, will now be conducted on Wednesday, May 14, and Thursday, May 15.
New dates have also been released for the BBA (Hons) written exams, which will now take place on Thursday, May 15, and Friday, May 16.
Practical examinations for the Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) programmes in Graphic Design and Textile Design have been rescheduled as well. These are now set for Monday, May 19, and Tuesday, May 20.
The university confirmed that all exam venues and timings will remain unchanged.
Meanwhile, public and private schools and colleges throughout Punjab reopened on Monday, May 12, after a temporary closure prompted by rising tensions along the Pakistan-India border.
Educational institutions were shut down on May 7 as a precautionary measure following missile and drone strikes by India targeting areas in Pakistan and Azad Jammu & Kashmir (AJK). In response, the Punjab Education Department had suspended academic operations.
Punjab’s Education Minister, Rana Sikandar Hayat, confirmed on Sunday that schools would resume normal operations, citing improved security conditions. “The well-being of students and staff remains our utmost concern. With the situation now under control, educational activities will proceed as scheduled,” he said.
The recent conflict had also disrupted Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) exams. Several key papers—such as Quran translation, ethics, mathematics, biology, and various practical assessments—had to be postponed across multiple cities, including Lahore and Multan.
