Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), and other Gulf countries are observing Eid ul Adha today with religious fervor.
Worshippers offered mass congregational prayers at Masjid al-Haram in Makkah and Masjid an-Nabawi in Madinah.
This morning, thousands of devotees gathered in the holy cities of Makkah and Madinah to perform the Eid prayers.
Sheikh Maher Al-Muaiqly conducted the Eid prayer and delivered the sermon at Masjid al-Haram. Worshippers gathered at Al-Aqsa Mosque, as well as in Lebanon and Egypt, to perform Eid prayers followed by the ritual animal sacrifice.
In Damascus, officials organized a large congregation at the Grand Mosque, which interim President Ahmad al-Sharaa attended.
At the same time, pilgrims have started arriving in Mina from Muzdalifah to carry out the ritual of Rami (stoning of the devil), followed by animal sacrifice, shaving of the head, and removal of the Ihram clothing. Pilgrims will next do Tawaf al-Ziyarah and Sa’i in Makkah.
Apart from the Middle East, certain regions in Europe and North America are also observing Eid today, whereas others will be celebrating tomorrow (Monday), hence two distinct Eid celebrations this year. In the US, UK, Canada, and Europe, there is no uniform Eid date among Muslim communities.
Furthermore, worshippers in the UAE, including Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and Sharjah offered Eid prayers in mosques and designated prayer grounds.
In Pakistan, the Bohra community is also celebrating Eid ul Adha today. They offered Eid prayers at various locations in Karachi, including Saddar, Pakistan Chowk, Hyderi, and Baloch Colony.
