Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud has ordered hosting of 1,000 pilgrims from martyrs’ families, prisoners, and the wounded from the Palestinian nation at his own expense to undertake Hajj this year, according to Saudi state media.
The Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Call and Guidance is executing it under King Salman’s Guests Program for Hajj, Umrah, and Visit.
Minister of Islamic Affairs, Call and Guidance and General Supervisor of the program Sheikh Abdullatif Al-Sheikh thanked the King and Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman for this noble gesture.
He added that it shows the Kingdom’s ongoing concern and its wise leadership’s resolve to provide support to the Palestinian people and enhance the ties of Islamic brotherhood.
Al-Sheikh stressed that the leadership is making efforts to ease the practice of Hajj rituals for Palestinians, and this drive is part of those efforts.
He pointed out that the ministry has, straight away, embarked on putting in place a holistic plan to offer all the required services and facilities to the Palestinian pilgrims, from when they leave their country until they return, within an integrated system during their time in Makkah and Madinah.
He said that since its establishment in 1417 AH, the program has received over 64,000 pilgrims from different nations, which indicates the Kingdom’s continued efforts to serve Islam and Muslims and consolidate its role as the heart of the world of Islam and the Qibla of Muslims.
