Life returned to normal conditions in Islamabad and Rawalpindi after the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) protests were discontinued.
All private and government schools in Rawalpindi and Islamabad reopened today from Thursday after a 4-day closure due to protests.
The schools in the twin cities have reopened from November 28 as the situation has improved.
According to the Deputy Commissioner of Punjab, all government and private schools and colleges across the district will reopen, the three private school associations have also confirmed the opening of schools today, and parents were informed through WhatsApp messages.
Government schools have also opened and attendance of teachers and non-teaching staff has resumed.
After four days, commercial centers opened in twin cities, internet, and metro services were restored, while people breathed a sigh of relief as normal life returned.
Normal life returned to Islamabad and Rawalpindi on Wednesday morning, all road blockages were removed and traffic flow was ensured, while all routes in Lahore have also been opened, traffic is flowing on motorways and national highways.
Islamabad Deputy Commissioner Irfan Memon directed the assistant commissioners to ensure the immediate reopening of all roads and directed cleanliness at important intersections to restore the city’s functionality.
Previously, PTI convoys reached Islamabad’s D-Chowk on Tuesday, despite facing security measures, barricades, and tear gas shelling by police, rangers, and military personnel.
The convoy, led by Bushra Bibi, wife of former Prime Minister Imran Khan, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur, began their journey from Peshawar to the federal capital.
