Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif met with Saudi Arabia and Qatari ambassadors separately and affirmed Pakistan’s commitment in ensuring peace and stability in the region by engaging in dialogue and diplomacy.

The Prime Minister met Qatar Ambassador, showing solidarity after the destruction of the recent missile attacks in the region. “We pray to God for the safety and security of our Qatari brothers and sisters, and the rest of the region as well,” PM expressed.

The prime minister again made it clear that Pakistan has never failed to recognize dialogue and diplomacy as the lone option towards the establishment of permanent peace in the Middle East.

During his meeting with the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Prime Minister Shehbaz talked about the situation around the Middle East which was rapidly developing.

He expressed desires and prayers to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, His Majesty King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia, His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.

The prime minister restated the unflinching support of Pakistan with the fraternal people of Saudi Arabia and that Pakistan will remain very close to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in efforts to bring peace in the region.

Separately, U.S. President Donald Trump declared that a ceasefire agreement had been reached between Israel and Iran, potentially marking the end of the recent 12-day conflict.

In a post on his social media platform Truth Social, Trump wrote, “CONGRATULATIONS TO EVERYONE! A full and complete CEASEFIRE has been agreed upon by both Israel and Iran, to begin in approximately six hours after the completion of current operations. The ceasefire will last for 12 hours, after which the war will officially be over!”

Trump elaborated further, stating that Iran would initiate the ceasefire, and Israel would follow 12 hours later, officially concluding the hostilities after 24 hours. He added that both sides are expected to maintain mutual respect and peace during the ceasefire window.
