The Sindh government is expected to raise government employees pay by up to 20% in the upcoming fiscal year budget.

An estimated Rs 65 billion will be allocated to the districts’ development budget. The budget’s top priorities, according to the Sindh government, would be drinking water and health initiatives.

The information indicates that the Sindh government is currently working on its 2025–2026 budget. While a development budget of nearly Rs 1,000 billion is envisaged, government employee salaries are anticipated to rise by as much as 20%. The report states that the development budget for the previous year was Rs 959m.

The districts are to receive Rs 65 billion in the new budget. The districts’ development budget was 55 billion last year. According to the Sindh administration, health and drinking water projects would be given first priority, and the budget will be kept 15% higher across the board.

A budget of above Rs 3.5 trillion is anticipated, according to the Sindh government, and the final budget would be unveiled following the collection of input from different sectors.

According to Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah, there is currently no information available regarding the federal funding allocated to Sindh’s budget. “How much the federal government will provide us in the upcoming fiscal year is unknown to us,” he said.

According to Murad Ali Shah, the federal government has not requested any budgetary recommendations from Sindh, thus they are unsure of the amount of taxes that will be collected in the upcoming fiscal year.
