Australia’s Big Bash League (BBL) and Women’s Big Bash League (WBBL) have completed their drafts, with just one Pakistani cricketer selected for the competitions.
Despite the fact that the franchises have access to 69 men and 11 women cricketers, leg-spinner Usama Mir is the only player from Pakistan chosen for the BBL.
Usama was selected by the Melbourne Stars in the third round of the BBL draft. The cricket player participated for the team in the 2023–24 league season.
Beginning on December 15, 2024, and ending on January 27, 2025, the BBL gave preference to international players who could play the entire season without any problems pertaining to No Objection Certificates (NOCs).
The obligations made to the national team bind Pakistan’s players, and league participation is frequently contingent on NOCs.
