Following Israeli airstrikes, Trump said in media talk that Iran’s nuclear program status is uncertain.
Nuclear talks are planned for Sunday, but Trump expressed doubts about their occurrence, emphasizing Iran’s opportunity to make a deal.
The Israeli attacks have cast doubt on whether U.S. special envoy Steve Witkoff’s scheduled Sunday meeting with an Iranian group in Oman will actually happen.
Trump claimed to be well aware of Israel’s strike preparations.
“We were fully aware, and I made an effort to spare Iran’s shame and demise. I would have delighted to see a transaction come to fruition, so I made a concerted effort to save them. It’s not too late, though, and they can yet come to an agreement,” he remarked.
He stated that he is not worried that Israel’s strikes will lead to a regional conflict.
