The Supreme Court of Pakistan on Tuesday ruled that all eateries, including Monal, must close within Margalla National Park.
The Supreme Court ordered the Chairman of the Capital Development Authority (CDA) to appear in court right away and dismissed the CDA’s report on Islamabad’s Monal restaurant.
Chief Justice (CJ) Justice Qazi Faez Isa mentioned that the top court had also asked for reports on many other eateries during the Monal Restaurant case hearing.
He stated that the inclusion of the Arts Council National Monument and Sports Club Pak-China Center in the report demonstrated the integrity of CDA authorities.
Justice Isa questioned if the SC building and the CDA office were also located inside Margalla National Park, stating that it would be better for the Authority to tear down its structure if they were.
He said that everyone in the world knew about the rapid development of eateries around Monal, but the CDA didn’t seem to know anything about it.
