Donald Trump has cautioned Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, claiming US intelligence has his location and capability to target, though not presently acting on it.
Trump said in a string of social media posts late Tuesday night, “We know exactly where the so-called ‘Supreme Leader’ Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, is hiding.” Although he is safe there, he is an easy target. For the time being, we won’t kill him.
Trump claimed that the US had “complete and total control of the skies over Iran” in a different post moment earlier.
Trump added a stern warning: “We don’t want missiles shot at civilians or American soldiers.” Trump regularly uses social media as a platform for policy-related remarks. We’re running out of patience. I appreciate you taking the time to look into this.
Trump previously approved the 2020 drone strike that killed Iranian General Qasem Soleimani close to Baghdad International Airport, which sparked intense Tehrani retaliation and heightened instability in Iraq and the surrounding area.
