U.S. President Donald Trump has claimed that there is evidence that Russia and North Korea are assisting Iran in its attacks against Israel.
In a statement, Trump said that Iran is now “very close” to acquiring nuclear weapons and emphasized that the Iranian nuclear program must be halted. He called on Iran to voluntarily abandon its nuclear ambitions.
Trump also noted that Iran has once again launched missile attacks on Israel.
It is worth mentioning that Trump had earlier warned Iranian citizens to evacuate Tehran. In a post on social media platform X, he said he had advised Iran to sign the nuclear deal and that it would have been in their interest to do so.
He added that the loss of human lives is tragic and emphasized that Iran must not be allowed to acquire nuclear weapons under any circumstances.
In a separate update the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) have claimed responsibility for the killing of Major General Ali Shadmani, Iran’s wartime Chief of Staff and its most senior military commander, in a precision airstrike on central Tehran.
According to the IDF, the operation was based on accurate intelligence and marks the second targeted killing of a high-ranking Iranian military official within five days.
The foreign media reports has also confirmed that Chief of Staff of the Iranian military has been martyred. Military Commander Ali Shadmani, who was the head of the Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters, was martyred in Tehran.
According to Arab media, Commander Shadmani was an Iranian high ranking military commander and one of the closest associates of the Iranian Supreme Leader. He has been appointed to the job just a few days ago when Commander Gholam Ali Rashid had been martyred by an Israeli attack.
After Rashid’s killing, Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei said that, in recognition of Major General Shadmani’s distinguished service and military expertise, he had appointed him Commander of the Khatam al-Anbiya (PBUH) Central Headquarters and conferred upon him the rank of Major General.
General Shadmani, regarded as Iran’s top-ranking military officer, also served as a key military advisor to Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
